Bonnie Marx | Debra Kohl

Debra Kohl, MS, RD

debra kohlDebra Kohl is a registered dietitian practicing in the Valley since 1985. She is co-founder of Kohl-Marx Counseling.

Ms. Kohl earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota in nutrition and dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship and master of science at the University of Arizona. She has also been awarded certification in nutrition support from the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.

Ms. Kohl began her career at Good Samaritan Medical Center where she gained invaluable experience working with patients on the cardiac and surgical floors. She also was a team member of the Good Samaritan Inpatient Eating Disorder program and the Samaritan Rehabilitation unit.

Ms. Kohl launched her private practice in 1989 with the help of Patrick Pasulka, MD, a nutrition expert in obesity and nutrition support. She was a part of the start up team, along with Ms. Marx, that developed what is now known as the Kohl-Marx Counseling Life Management Program.

Other experiences in her career include consulting with Coram Specialty Infusion since 1991 and with several other home infusion companies attending to patients who require parenteral nutrition and tube feedings. She also started the Phoenix Children’s Hospital ketogenic diet program, and was the nutrition analyst for the best selling Fat Free Living cookbook series. She is a nutrition expert for medical malpractice law suits and is a nutrition educator for multiple research protocols regarding medications for the treatment of obesity and weight management.
